Sunday afternoon’s New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos game features two teams in very different stages of their franchise rebuild. The Jets are just starting, while the Broncos are now seeing the benefits of their struggles. Let’s look at the current lines and NFL odds, a prediction for the game, the TV channel, and how to live stream the Jets vs. Broncos Week 3 NFL game.

New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos prediction and odds for Week 3

    Odds provided by DraftKings sportsbook.

    • Spread: Broncos -10.5
    • Moneyline: Jets +450, Broncos -630
    • Over/Under: 41 (Over -110, Under -110)

The Jets have had a nightmare start

If you expected Zach Wilson to come out firing the ball all over the field and lead a frankly woeful Jets team to victory, you were probably dreaming. However, a 2-touchdown, 5-interception start with a 55.7% completion rate is the stuff of nightmares. Throw in losing to the QB they discarded in Sam Darnold in Week 1 and that nightmare deepens.

It is difficult for any predictions to have the Jets winning their Week 3 matchup vs. the Broncos. The 19-14 Week 1 scoreline flatters them somewhat, having been down 16-0 at halftime and 19-8 with two minutes left in the fourth quarter.

The defense drew a lot of discussion this offseason, but their start has not been that bad. If you told Robert Saleh his defense would rank in the top 10 in points and yards allowed through two weeks, he would have been secretly over the moon (granted, that came against Darnold and rookie QB Mac Jones).

The offense is a major concern, but that is to be expected. The offensive line was always viewed as a problem. One positive was the play of Corey Davis in Week 1 and the performance of the run game in Week 2. While there are positives for New York, they are clouded by the weight of the concerns right now.

The Broncos are taking advantage of a soft start to the schedule

There is no way of hiding it — if the Broncos had not been 2-0 entering Week 3, it would have been disappointing. The only mitigating factor to a start that includes the Giants and Jaguars is that both were on the road, making them a touch more tricky.

Still, two wins on the road makes it obvious why many predictions have the Broncos coming out on top vs. the Jets. Their defense has been superb, holding opponents to a combined 20 points, with 6 points given up on special teams. If you also discount the garbage time Daniel Jones touchdown, that drops to 14.

Denver’s offense has been solid behind Teddy Bridgewater. Being hyper-critical, you would like more than 50 points against the two defenses they’ve faced. But on the road, it is understandable. This should be another game where the offense can be average, but sterner tests are on the horizon for Denver.

    Jets vs. Broncos prediction

If you have seen any of the Jets’ football games this year, it is obvious to see why the odds and lines available have them as significant underdogs vs. the Broncos. So far, it has been woeful, and going into Denver does not make things easier.

It is too early to write the Jets off, but they have a rookie QB and rookie head coach combination. Furthermore, the Jets’ roster is in disarray due to prior mismanagement and injuries. It would be a big achievement if they can go into Denver and even cover the spread against that defense playing in front of a raucous home crowd.

NFL Week 3 Prediction: Broncos 28, Jets 13
