New York Jets running back Breece Hall is the latest person on the team to showcase his feelings for Joe Douglas. The general manager had been with the team since 2019 and was fired last week.
Merely six weeks before Douglas’ firing, Jets head coach Robert Saleh was also let go. Now, the players are opening up on this latest parting of ways within the Jets organization.
Joe Douglas Receives Kind Words From Breece Hall After the GM’s Firing
With a 3-8 record and the playoff dreams all but shattered, the Jets are looking to rebuild their team. While Woody Johnson and the front office have already moved on, the players are paying their respects.
On Nov. 26, Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams took to X (formerly Twitter) to honor his former GM. “Joe embraced me from the moment he joined this organization and I have nothing but respect for him,” he tweeted.
“He built an incredible and promising roster, we just haven’t been able to finish games the way we know that we can. I’m thankful for him fighting to keep me a Jet and wish him nothing but the best.”
Hall couldn’t stop himself from sharing his feelings as well. “Forever Grateful for Joe D. He put his everything into us and that’s no question,” he responded to Williams’ tweet.

While Douglas won the admiration of the players, he did not have a winning record in his six-year stint with Gang Green. The GM ended his Jets tenure with a 30-64 record.
Hall Has a Blunt Message for His Teammates Amidst the Losses
After the Jets lost to the Indianapolis Colts in their last outing, Hall did not hold back in calling out his teammates. “Everybody needs to look themselves in the mirror,” Hall said to the media after the 28-27 loss.
“Our playmakers need to make plays when plays need to be made, so at the end of the day, there’s no excuses. We just have to be better and win there’s no more time for making excuses. It’s too late for that, so we just got to be better, we got to win games,” he added.
The Jets will welcome the Seattle Seahawks to MetLife Stadium this Sunday in Week 13, with the clash set to kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET.
