The New York Jets and Cleveland Browns will do battle in a game that has plenty on the line for the men in orange. This is also the Joe Flacco revenge game, and if the veteran QB needed any more motivation, that might just be the tipping point. With a playoff spot on the line for the Browns, can they push the Jets to one side, or could the AFC playoff race take another turn?
In our Jets vs. Browns predictions and picks, our NFL betting experts take a look at the current odds and give their favorite plays for this week.

Jets vs. Browns Predictions and Expert Picks
Ben Rolfe: Often in a game like this, where one team has playoff implications and the other doesn’t, you lean toward the team with more on the line. That is going to be the case here with the Jets and Browns, especially after the way the Jets capitulated last week.
I do not love laying a full touchdown with the Browns because there is a part of me that will refuse to trust Joe Flacco completely. I do not foresee an upset in this one, and the total is low enough to where I can see teasing the Browns down to -1 and the total down to 28.5 and taking the over.
Pick: Browns -1 and over 28.5 total points six-point teaser
David Bearman The Browns are not a team I would want to play right now. With a veteran QB in Joe Flacco, an unstoppable WR in Amari Cooper, and one of the league’s best defenses, the Browns have that look of a deep playoff run. And they still can win the AFC North as well as the one seed if things break their way.
Meanwhile, the Jets survived a Washington rally on Sunday that sounds as bad as it looks. A blown 27-7 lead, needing a walk-off field goal. But hey, at least Coach Robert Saleh got a vote of confidence for 2024. This one probably won’t be close.
Pick: Browns -6.5
Soppe: Hall found paydirt on a short carry (two yards) and a long one (36 yards) last week, bringing his season total to seven. This week, he faces an elite defense, but one that owns the third-worst red-zone touchdown rate. Interesting.
The Browns create pressure at the sixth-highest rate this season, and while that may seem counterintuitive when it comes to talking up Hall, his -0.39 aDOT this season puts him in a spot to beat the heat and get out in space.
We know the home-run hitting capabilities of Hall and Joe Flacco’s seven interceptions could potentially shorten the field against a Jets defense that ranks top 10 in both INTs per game and sack rate.
Pick: Breece Hall anytime touchdown (+195 at DraftKings)
Ryan Gosling: Yes, Flacco has been an unbelievable story this season. With the second-best odds to win Comeback Player of the Year, Flacco has been nothing but elite since joining Cleveland as a free agent.
In just four games, Flacco has 1,307 passing yards with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has led the team to three straight wins and kept Cleveland very much in the think of the playoff race, even giving them a longshot chance at the AFC North.

Even though Cleveland is coming off three straight A+ performances from their QB, this might be a bad matchup for their pass-happy Flacco-led offense. The Jets are third in yards per pass allowed and top 10 in both sack rate and interception rate, while Flacco has thrown five picks in the last two games.
Combine that with the fact that Amari Cooper has popped up on the injury report, and Flacco’s under-yardage prop seems like an easy bet. The Jets are not a good football team, but their defense is still excellent.
Pick: Joe Flacco Under 232.5 Total Passing Yards (-115 ESPN BET)
Bearman: The last time the Jets “exploded” for 30 points, they got shut out the next week in Miami. The 30 they scored against Washington last week comes with a bunch of asterisks, as the Commanders handed them 10 points before you knew the game was on, and they had exactly one scoring drive over 45 yards. It wasn’t exactly the Fun-n-Gun.
Now they play a Browns defense that leads the NFL in yards per game, passing yards per game, and many other categories. This isn’t the Texans’ or Commanders’ defense.
Pick: Jets team total u13.5
