Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, has made a significant impact both on and off the field. Since acquiring the Cowboys in 1989, he has been a driving force behind the franchise’s success, turning it into one of the most valuable sports teams in the world. His innovative business acumen has helped the Cowboys achieve consistent performance in the NFL.
While his football achievements are remarkable, his personal life is equally important, particularly his marriage to Eugenia Jones, his longtime partner and wife.
Know Jerry Jones’ Wife: Eugenia Jones
Eugenia, often called Gene, has been by Jerry’s side for decades. Born in 1944, she is currently 79 years old. Gene holds a degree in education and has always been passionate about the arts and philanthropy. She serves on the board of the Texas Cultural Trust and is known for her work with the Meadows School for the Arts.
The small-town banker’s daughter was a beautiful woman as well, having won the Miss Arkansas USA beauty pageant in 1960. The couple began dating in the early ’60s after a blind date. Eugenia recalled how they went to a state fair with some friends. Embarrassed by his unsuccessful attempts to win her a teddy bear, Jerry bought one from a nearby store.
Recalling the night, Jerry shared with The Dallas Morning News, “I tried and tried but couldn’t,” and added, “so I went behind and bought her one.”
He may have struggled to win the teddy, but he won Eugenia’s heart. Three years later, on Jan. 19, 1963, the couple married and went on to have three children: Stephen, Charlotte, and Jerry Jr.

Besides her philanthropic efforts, Eugenia is a dedicated mother. She, along with her three children, works with the Cowboys organization, maintaining the Jones family legacy. Gene has kept a private life but plays a vital role in supporting her husband’s career while deeply engaging in community work.
