Jerry Jones’ Latest Update on Trade Acquisitions

The Cowboys owner discussed where his mindset is ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline, saying, “I don’t think there’s anything at a level that I would expect to do anything.”

Jones discussed his satisfaction with the current roster and where it stands, but also the reality of improving it if the right deal that made sense came up.

“If we don’t do anything at this trade deadline, we’ve got a team in my mind that can get us where we want to go.”

He said a “trade mentality” among the NFL is different from years prior, which he describes as being healthy. However, Jones made it clear that the team will make a trade if the right opportunity comes along, yet said the trade must uphold high standards because he likes the team’s current state.

“I am by nature active and by nature a risk-taker, so don’t come by unless you want to be struck at,” said Jones.

Jones went on 105.3 The Fan earlier this week that he wouldn’t make a risky trade just for the sake of being risky, and it sounds like he wants to continue to stick with that mentality as the deadline draws closer.
