The Denver Broncos have had a very difficult start to their season, as they are currently 1-5 entering a Week 7 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
Russell Wilson has been talked about a ton this year, but fantasy-wise, Wilson and the Broncos’ passing game have put up good numbers. Wilson has thrown for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Two of his go-to receivers are Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy, but which one should fantasy football managers have in their lineups?

Courtland Sutton’s Fantasy Outlook This Week
Sutton is currently leading the Broncos in nearly every receiving statistic, as he has 25 catches, 275 yards, and four touchdowns, all team-bests. In the matchup last Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs, he had four catches for 46 yards and one touchdown.
At 6’4”, 216 pounds, Sutton is a matchup nightmare for opposing cornerbacks. He has great speed at his size, and he is also able to catch 50/50 balls.
The Packers enter this game as one of the better pass defenses in the league, ranking ninth (194.9 yards). In the game against the Packers, he figures to see Jaire Alexander a lot. However, Alexander is questionable for the game, which could give Sutton a much better matchup.
Jerry Jeudy’s Fantasy Outlook This Week
Jeudy has been in the media a lot recently, but not for the right reasons. He had an interesting exchange with former wide receiver Steve Smith, who had said he wasn’t worth acquiring via trade. He has also been in a ton of trade rumors, and that talk will only continue as we near the Oct. 31 trade deadline.

While he is still a member of the Broncos, let’s look at his numbers: He has 20 catches this year for 222 yards, but he still hasn’t been able to score a touchdown. He has had two games where he has had at least five catches, but the fact he isn’t scoring touchdowns makes it very tough for fantasy managers to count on him.
Which Broncos WR Should You Start?
In the Pro Football Network Start/Sit Optimizer, PFN’s Consensus Rankings say that Sutton is the player to start. His projected 10.2 points include a projection of four catches for 53 yards. That doesn’t seem like a big stat line, but it outperforms the consensus projection of Jeudy (9.8).
These two Broncos wide receivers are extremely close in the PFN Consensus Rankings. Sutton is currently WR35, while Jeudy is WR37.
With those two being so close, it could be a tough decision for fantasy football managers to make. However, the optimizer is correct on this one, as Sutton should be the play. As a matter of fact, WR35 is a little too low for Sutton because he is going to have a much bigger game.
With Alexander questionable at best, that is a favorable matchup for Sutton. Look for Sutton to finish the game with at least six catches for 70 yards, and if he is able to score a touchdown, we could be looking at a fringe top-10 WR finish.
