Jerome Ford Injury Update: What We Know About The Browns RB

    Published on

Jerome Ford has stepped in admirably since Nick Chubb's devastating knee injury. However, Ford went down with an apparent right leg injury against Baltimore.

Jerome Ford limped off the field with an apparent right lower extremity injury in the third quarter of the Cleveland Browns‘ intradivisional matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. What do we know about the injury, and what kind of fantasy impact could it have on Kareem Hunt?

    Jerome Ford Injury Update

Ford was struggling to get things going, as was the entire Browns offense, against the Ravens. Before his apparent injury, Ford toted the rock seven times for just 18 yards.

Update: Ford returned to the game on the next series, but his gait was clearly not right when he returned to the field for his first touch after the injury to his right leg.

Ford struggled against the Cincinnati Bengals, managing just 36 yards on 15 carries. However, he managed to top 100 yards on just 16 carries against the Steelers in a 26-22 loss.

    Potential Fantasy Impact

Prior to his exit, Ford was the leading ball carrier for the Browns against the Ravens, seeing seven carries to Hunt’s five. As long as Ford is out of the lineup, Hunt will see an expanded role — if not a feature role — in this backfield.

While Hunt is averaging less than three yards per carry up to this point, he would be in the RB2 conversation if Ford’s condition worsens after the adrenaline from the current game wears off.
