Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford went down with an injury during the fourth quarter against the Colts on Sunday. Here’s the latest we know right now.

From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

    Latest Jerome Ford Injury Update

Update 10/23/23: According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Ford was diagnosed with a “low grade, high ankle” sprain that is expected to sideline him for 1-to-2 weeks.

Ford was brought down by Colts cornerback Kenny Moore II on a carry and limped off the field after the play. He is being evaluated for an ankle injury and is questionable to return.

Ford left the locker room in a protective boot.

Before the injury, Ford put up 74 rushing yards and a touchdown. This season, he has amassed 270 yards on 67 carries, averaging four yards per carry. Ford took over as the lead running back this season in place of Nick Chubb, who suffered a season-ending injury last month.

In Ford’s absence, Kareem Hunt would handle most of the load for the rest of today’s matchup. Through four games, Hunt has put up 72 rushing yards on 22 carries, averaging 3.3 yards per carry.

    Fantasy Implications of Ford’s Injury

Prior to his injury, Ford was having a great fantasy day with 94 total yards and a score against the Colts. Ford has led the team in carries every game since Nick Chubb suffered a season-ending injury back in Week 2.

If Ford will miss any time in the future, Kareem Hunt immediately gets a fantasy bump in RB2 consideration, with Pierre Strong Jr. also set to see some extra work in the Browns backfield.
