‘So Fired Up’ – Former Florida Native Jedd Fisch Expresses Excitement as Saquon Barkley Lead the Eagles to NFC Championship Game

Washington Huskies head coach Jedd Fisch detailed how excited he was for his good friend, Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman.

Washington Huskies head coach Jedd Fisch took to social media to detail his excitement for his former college roommate, Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman. The Eagles defeated the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday 28-22 to advance to the NFC Championship Game on Jan. 26. In the post on X, Fisch expressed how important and positive the Saquon Barkley addition has been this season.

Barkley signed a lucrative contract with Roseman and the Eagles in the offseason as a free agent after spending the first six seasons of his career with the New York Giants. Though he had already lived up to the hype of being the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft while in New York, Barkley has had one of the best seasons ever by a running back in his debut campaign with the Eagles.

What Did Jedd Fisch Say About Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles?

NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo released a video showing Barkley and Roseman celebrating the Eagles’ Divisional Round win over the Rams.

“Howie Roseman and Saquon Barkley celebrate the #Eagles advancing to the NFC Championship Game,” Garafolo stated.

In response, Fisch outlined his level of excitement for his friend Roseman. “So fired up for my college roommate and close friend!! That Saquon pickup was a good one!” he said.

    Philadelphia Eagles NFC Championship Preview

Barkley and the Eagles will now take on Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders for the third time this season in the NFC Championship Game. For Barkley, he will look to build off an amazing Divisional Round game against a Washington defense that just gave the Detroit Lions many problems offensively.

Against the Rams, Barkley had 26 carries for 205 rushing yards and two touchdowns. In addition, he had four receptions for 27 receiving yards as well. The Eagles will be hoping for a similar performance against the Commanders next week.

Defensively, the Eagles will need to find a way to shut down rookie superstar quarterback Daniels, who just had 350 total yards against a very good Lions team. As a result, it will need to be a focus this week to shut down and minimize the young quarterback’s impact on the game.

The NFC Championship Game will take place on Jan. 26, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. ET from Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Eagles. The contest will be aired nationally on Fox, with Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady on the call. The winner will play in the Super Bowl against either the Kansas City Chiefs or the Buffalo Bills.
