Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle had an injury scare on the second drive of the team’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Latest Jaylen Waddle Injury Update
Waddle went to the ground after getting rolled while blocking for running back Raheem Mostert on the team’s first offensive possession. After staying down for a minute or two, he was able to get up and walk off under his own power.
The team announced that Waddle has a left knee injury and is questionable to return. But it was not serious, as he was on the field for the next Dolphins drive.

Waddle’s injury came with the Dolphins down 7-0 early in the game. Miami’s other active wide receivers Sunday are Tyreek Hill, Braxton Berrios, Chase Claypool, and Cedrick Wilson Jr.
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel told the NFL Network at halftime that Waddle is working through the injury and the team would be smart with his usage.
Waddle is not a player who often misses time for the Dolphins. He missed Week 3 of this season with a concussion, but that was the first game he missed in his entire NFL career. Waddle played more than 75% of the Dolphins’ offensive snaps in his first two seasons. The impact of the Week 2 concussion and the missed game in Week 3 has him down below 60% of the offensive snaps so far this season.
Fantasy Implications of Jaylen Waddle’s Injury
The explosive Dolphins offense may have lost some of its firepower after Waddle suffered an injury early in the first quarter against the Chiefs. Waddle suffered the injury after catching one pass for 15 yards on the team’s opening drive.
If Waddle should miss any time moving forward, Hill will continue to see his dominating target share, while WRs like Berrios and Claypool could see an expanded role in the passing game if Waddle misses any time in the near future.
