As the Green Bay Packers continue to fight for their playoff lives during Sunday Night Football, breakout wide receiver Jayden Reed went down with an injury. Here is the latest we know about Green Bay’s top receiving option.
Jayden Reed Injury Update
The Packers have dominated the Vikings and are up by more than 20 in this NFC North showdown. However, injuries have started to become a problem. After losing Aaron Jones earlier in the game, Reed also went down with a chest injury in the third quarter. Jones eventually returned, but Reed was not as lucky.
The chest issue had been one that he had been playing through but looks to have once again reared its ugly head. The Packers WR missed last week’s game with toe and chest injuries. However, with a big lead, it is not clear if keeping Reed out was precautionary or not.

Reed was having the best game of his young career before going down. With six receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns, Reed had become an integral weapon for Jordan Love.
Shortly after the injury, Reed was listed as out for the remainder of the game.

The team is already without Christian Watson, and will now rely on Romeo Doubs, Malik Heath, Samori Toure, and Bo Melton.
If Green Bay goes 2-0 to finish the season, it will only need one loss by either the Rams or the Seahawks in order to make the postseason as the NFC’s seventh seed. If LA and Seattle each drop one game and the Packers win out, they win the No. 6 seed.
Fantasy Impact of Potential Reed Injury for Packers
The role for the WR1 in Green Bay has been pretty clear cut for over a month now with Reed breaking out, but should he miss time, a chaotic situation presents itself.
Christian Watson profiles as the lean man if he can return to action (hamstring), but if that’s not the case, Romeo Doubs picks up enough value to be on Flex radars.
Dontayvion Wicks sat out Week 17, but he too has flashed target earning skills and deserves to be ranked as a top 40 receiver sans Reed/Watson. He’d be a strong punt DFS in a must win spot for the Packers.
