After a sensational rookie season, it appears Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is destined to one day play in the Super Bowl. But this year, he will be watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles with the rest of us.
And just like a typical NFL pundit or fan, Daniels has a prediction for Super Bowl 59.

Jayden Daniels Predicts Turnovers Will Determine Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Daniels hit the ground running during his rookie season. That could be because at 24 years old, he’s already aware of what determines so many games at the NFL level — turnovers.
While analyzing the Super Bowl matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles on “Nightcap” with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson, the Washington quarterback argued Patrick Mahomes will be an X-factor.
But Daniels ultimately concluded the team that causes the big mistake will likely win. He also predicted a dramatic ending.
“I think it’s going to come down to whoever got the ball last. So it’s hard to bet against Pat [Mahomes], man, especially he’s been here,” Daniels told Sharpe and Johnson. “But I think it’s who could create more turnovers, who can create more negative plays on the side of the ball, and I think it’s gonna come down to the end.”

If it’s a one-score game, that seemingly favors the Chiefs. Kansas City has won 17 straight one-score games dating back to last season. In 2024, the Chiefs went 12-0 in one-possession matchups, which set a new NFL record.
Mahomes has recorded eight game-winning drives this season, including the playoffs. That’s tied for the most by a quarterback in a single season since the league began tracking the statistic in 1950.
Four other quarterbacks have posted eight game-winning drives in a season. The only one to win the Super Bowl was Eli Manning in 2011.
Impact Turnovers Had in 2025 NFL Playoffs, Previous Eagles vs. Chiefs Super Bowl
Daniels saw firsthand how turnovers can impact a playoff football game. In the NFC Division Round, the Commanders used five takeaways to upset the top-seeded Detroit Lions 45-31.
In the NFL Divisional Round, teams that won the turnover margin went 3-0.
But in the NFC Championship Game, the Commanders gave the ball away four times. As a result, they were on the other end of a lopsided affair versus the Eagles.
During the 2025 NFL playoffs, only the Chiefs have won while posting a negative turnover differential. Kansas City lost the turnover battle 1-0 in the AFC Championship Game but still defeated the Buffalo Bills 32-29.
The last time the Chiefs and Eagles met in the Super Bowl, Kansas City won the turnover margin 1-0. It helped win Mahomes his second ring.
The Eagles were driving into Kansas City territory already ahead by a touchdown in the second quarter. But Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton recovered a Jalen Hurts fumble and returned it 36 yards for a touchdown.
That tied the game at 14. The Eagles retook the lead and held a 10-point edge at halftime. But a masterful fourth quarter from Mahomes erased the deficit and won the Chiefs their second Super Bowl in four years.
Kansas City kicked the game-winning field in Super Bowl 57 in the game’s final seconds. If Daniels is correct, fans will get another dramatic ending on Sunday.
