Washington Commanders rookie QB Jayden Daniels is on the verge of playing his biggest game of the year against the Detroit Lions.
He has a lot of support, especially from his mom.
Regina Jackson Hypes Up Her Son
Daniels’ mom, Regina Jackson, is his biggest fan and gave these words to hype up her son:
“1 down. Detroit here he comes!!”
Jackson has supported her son since Day 1 when it comes to football. She stood by his side, and so did her husband, Javon Daniels.
Who Are Regina Jackson and Javon Daniels?
Much is unknown about Daniels’ parents, but People Magazine profiled the couple in October 2024.
They met while both students at Cajon High School in California, the same high school their son would later attend.
Daniels started at Arizona State before heading to LSU, where he would win the Heisman. Jackson talked about her son before he won the Heisman in 2023.
“The word perseverance is that kid Jayden,” Jackson said before the Heisman Trophy ceremony. “The patience he has, the resilience to continue day after day, hour after hour, minute after minute, to be the best version of himself … just watching him get up at 5:30 in the morning to be great is really hard to describe.”
Javon Daniels added, “Everyone is proud of him. Our families came together and supported him … I know his mom is proud of him. I know I’m proud.”
Javon Daniels also played football in college and encouraged his son to play since he started walking.
“Dad, you put a football in my hands when I was young. I know you raised me to be a corner, but hopefully now the decision to play quarterback paid off,” Jayden Daniels said to a room full of laughter after he won the Heisman. “You taught me how to play, lead, and be calm no matter the situation, and I know I wouldn’t be on this stage if it wasn’t for you. So thank you, I love you.”
But he praised his mother the most for getting him to that point in his career. He said on the podcast “The Pivot” about his mother, who was always there for him, “My mother has never missed a game,” he said. “If it’s raining out there, she’s going to be out there. If it’s minus [negative] degrees, she’s going to be out there standing up the whole time making sure she’s cheering me on.”
And that support continues today.
