Jayden Daniels’ Mom, Regina, Shares 3-Word Reaction to the Commanders QB Making NFL History

It's been a historic season for Jayden Daniels as he continues to break records -- his mother Regina Jackson is among the proudest of her boy.

It has already been a historic season for Jayden Daniels. Thanks to a Divisional Round upset over the Detroit Lions and a trip to the NFC Championship Game, many have gone so far as to call it the greatest rookie QB season ever. And there is certainly some merit to it.

Nonetheless, it has also been an emotional roller coaster for Daniels, who has found unbelievable success at nearly every level. Now, he’s making his mother proud, and she has no qualms about showing off love for her incredible son.

Regina Jackson Is Over the Moon With Jayden Daniels’ Season

It has been a hell of a past 12 months for Daniels. Starting at LSU, he powered his way to a Heisman Trophy, before being the second quarterback taken off the board. In his first season with the Commanders, he has won a Pro Bowl selection and will almost undoubtedly win Offensive Rookie of the Year, all while leading them to the playoffs for the first time since 2020 with five game-winning drives.

His mother, Regina Jackson, was there as the entire story played out. Before he even lifted the Heisman, she was confident in her son and his ability to persevere.

“The word perseverance is that kid Jayden,” Jackson said before the Heisman Trophy ceremony. “The patience he has, the resilience to continue day after day, hour after hour, minute after minute, to be the best version of himself … just watching him get up at 5:30 in the morning to be great is really hard to describe.”

His perseverance was on full display this season as a midseason slump had many touting his ceiling and calling him a flash in the pan. However, he bounced back from a rib injury to lead Washington to four straight victories to close out the regular season.

But, he’s somehow been even better in the playoffs. On the road in both games, he’s shown poise and maturity beyond his years, having clean games in both outings, converting critical third and fourth downs, and even leading a game-winning drive in the Wild Card round.

All of it has left Jackson as a proud mother hen, who took to Instagram to once again show support to Daniels.

After his two playoff outings, Daniels officially set the record for most offensive yards by a rookie in NFL history, a fact she celebrated with a simple caption, “That’s my boy.”

Throughout his career, Jackson has been a constant for Daniels, and he even credits her for helping him reach his potential. Speaking on “The Pivot,” he revealed her commitment to be there for him.

“My mother has never missed a game,” he said. “If it’s raining out there, she’s going to be out there. If it’s minus [negative] degrees, she’s going to be out there standing up the whole time making sure she’s cheering me on.”

We know one fan who’s going to be in Philadelphia amongst that rabid fan base cheering on the QB.
