    Ja’Tavion Sanders Injury Update

October 6, 2023 Update: Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian told reporters on Thursday that Sanders would be “good to go” and “looks great” for Week 6’s matchup against Oklahoma, per C.J. Vogel of TFB Texas.

The Longhorns raced out to a 10-0 lead in the first action frame against Kansas, who was without their star QB Jalon Daniels. Sanders caught an impressive third-down target on Texas’ second scoring drive, allowing the offense to convert a short fourth-down attempt later.

But Sanders was rolled up from behind as running back Jonathan Brooks was tackled. Brooks appeared to be pushed into Sanders’ back while engaged with a defender. Sanders had to be helped off the field as he slowly left the field.

Before halftime, Sanders went back to the locker room due to a noticeable limp. He had both ankles wrapped heavily after coming out of the medical tent but did not go back to the locker room for almost one full quarter.

We’ll continue to update this article as we get more information about Sanders’ availability.
