Are Jason and Travis Kelce Brothers? A Look at the Most Popular NFL Duo

Are Jason and Travis Kelce brothers? Let's take a look at the two NFL stars ahead of their clash on Monday Night Football tonight.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs are set to square off tonight in what promises to be a great Super Bowl rematch from last season. Record-wise, these two teams sit at the top. Led by Jason and Travis Kelce, respectively, they look to potentially meet in the big game once again.

Before they can get there, they will first clash tonight in what will be the best prime-time game of the NFL season. On both sides, there are tons of superstar talent, headlined by two players with a lot of history with one another.

Are Jason and Travis Kelce Brothers?

Yes, Jason (center for the Eagles) and Travis (tight end for the Chiefs) are brothers. Jason is the older of the two, but they’re as close as two brothers can possibly be.

According to their mother, Donna Kelce, “Both of the boys are very, very close.” When she spoke about the upcoming game against one another, she was confident that they would bring the best out of each other on the biggest stage.

“And there’s nothing better than to get somebody to be more competitive, to try harder, especially for Travis to try to be better than somebody that’s two years older than him. Constantly competing to get there.”

The two of them grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, before they both went and attended the University of Cincinnati to continue their college football careers together.

Jason and Travis are currently at the top of their profession as each is widely regarded as the best, or in the discussion for title, in their respective positions.

    Jason Kelce’s NFL Career

Jason Kelce’s road to the NFL was not a smooth one. He started as a walk-on in college, first playing running back before eventually switching to the offensive line, where he would find a home for his career.

The Eagles selected Kelce in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He would quickly turn into a cornerstone piece for the franchise.

Throughout his ongoing 13-year career, Kelce has played in and started all 185 games he has played in. During his career, he has made five All-Pro teams and has been selected to six Pro Bowls.

    Travis Kelce’s NFL Career

Travis joined his brother Jason two years later and was a more highly regarded college recruit than Jason was. However, Travis’ time in college was anything but smooth.

He was thrown off the team at one point for failing a drug test but was welcomed back on the team a year later.

Eventually, Travis would get on the straight and narrow and parlayed a successful college career into being drafted in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by Andy Reid and the Chiefs. Reid was the same coach that just two years prior drafted his brother Jason during his time in Philadelphia.

During his 11-year career, Travis has solidified himself as one of the NFL’s premier tight ends. He’s a two-time Super Bowl champion, four-time All-Pro, and an eight-time Pro Bowler.
