On the latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce announced that he recorded a new Christmas album with his former teammates Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson.
This is the third year in a row that the group known as The Philly Specials will release a Christmas album, this time titled “A Philly Special Christmas Special.” This year, the album will feature some special guests, including a collaboration with legendary R&B group Boyz II Men.
Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce Recorded a Song With Boyz II Men
Yes, that is a real thing that happened and not a MadLib entry.
“New Christmas album! Jordan Mailata, Lane Johnson, and myself, that’s right, we’re doing a new Christmas album and it’s coming out Nov. 29,” Jason said. “There are special guest appearances from Boyz II Men. I don’t know if you’ve heard of Travis Kelce, but he’s also on the album again.
“It’s Travis, myself, and Boyz II Men on, like, an R&B Christmas song! I don’t really know how this happened. Dude, I can’t wait to unleash this. I never in a million years thought that I’d be collabing on a song with Boyz II Men.”

“There’s no way I ever thought I’d be in any of this shit, especially with Boyz II Men,” Travis added.
“We grew up on Boyz II Men being the main focuses on Christmas albums. They’ve got a million bangers of Christmas songs, so it’s definitely an honor to be on there with them.”
Here is the track list for “A Philly Special Christmas Special,” which also features some members of The Roots, Devon Gilfillian, Brandon Beaver of MewithoutYou, The Hooters, The War on Drugs and Dr. Dog:
- Last Christmas
- Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
- Having A Party
- Christmas Don’t Be Late
- Feliz Navidad
- Maybe This Christmas
- It’s Christmas Time (In Cleveland Heights)
- Loud Little Town
- Please Come Home For Christmas
- Sleigh Ride
- Santa Drives An Astrovan
- The Parting Glass
“This is one of my favorite little creative side jobs I’ve ever done,” Travis said with a smile.
Jason revealed that the album will be sold as a limited edition white vinyl, which goes on pre-sale on Nov. 1. Proceeds from the album will be donated to local charities.
Is Taylor Swift on the New ‘A Philly Special Christmas Special’ Album?
Some Swifties got excited when Travis teased some surprise features on the album.
“I’m excited to hear the rest of the album,” Travis said. “You’ve got a bunch of fun names on there — all, I guess, will be a surprise.”
But unfortunately, Swift won’t be featured on the album. The Philly Specials got ahead of this by putting out a press release to make it clear that Swift won’t make an appearance.
“With apologies to the Swifties, Swift does not make an appearance on ‘A Philly Special Christmas Party,'” the press release stated.
Still, Swifties will get a chance to hear Travis on a song with a legendary group in Boyz II Men. However, don’t expect an amazing performance from the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
“I have zero musical talent,” Travis said with a laugh.
Jason and Travis’ song from last year’s album, “Fairytale in Philadelphia,” reached No. 1 on both Billboard (under both Holiday and Rock) and US iTunes. You can give it a listen here:
Travis and Jason Kelce currently have the No. 1 song on two separate Billboard charts ("Holiday" and "Rock").
