The NFL season is back after a thrilling Week 1 in 2023. The excitement comes back with Thursday Night Football in Week 2, but there’s some other football fun to watch today.
While the Philadelphia Eagles play on Thursday, their center will be the center of attention Tuesday as “Kelce,” Jason Kelce’s new documentary, debuts. Here’s how to see a look behind the curtain of Kelce’s life on and off the field.
Who Is Airing ‘Kelce’ Tonight?
The 12-year veteran’s new documentary will go live exclusively on Prime Video on Tuesday, Sept. 12. Here’s a preview of the documentary from USA Today.
“Kelce” will hit Amazon’s video streaming service twice this week with the documentary and then appear in Thursday Night Football when Philadelphia hosts the Minnesota Vikings at Lincoln Financial Field.
Amazon and the NFL signed a deal in 2021 to make Prime Video the home of Thursday Night Football until 2033. The world’s largest online retailer and prominent cloud service provider is paying the league $1 billion a season to obtain exclusive rights for Thursday Night Football. With “Kelce” released today, they also add to an impressive run of NFL-related documentaries.
What To Expect in Kelce?
Produced by 9.14 Pictures, “Kelce” follows Jason throughout what was initially thought to be the veteran’s final season. When asked about the documentary by NBC’s Kaylee Hartung, the Eagles center said, “I have been contemplating retirement for a number of years. I thought it would be interesting following a player going into that.”
Those plans rapidly changed as the Eagles dominated the NFC during the 2022 season and ended up in the Super Bowl, where Jason got to face off against his brother, Travis Kelce. While Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs won, the journey to Super Bowl 57 changed the center’s mind. He announced in March he would return for Year 13.

The documentary still focuses on Kelce’s impending retirement and the challenges football creates in his personal life. The time required to stay competitive at the NFL level puts a hefty parenting load on his wife, Kylie, who is also heavily featured in the one-hour, 42-minute documentary. There’s also coverage of his escapades with his brother, such as Travis’ night hosting SNL and the launch of their podcast New Heights.
Be sure to watch Prime Video’s newest addition to its collection of football documentaries, with the release of “Kelce” today.
