Jared Goff’s NFL career has had an interesting arc. The 2016 No. 1 overall pick guided the Los Angeles Rams to a Super Bowl in 2018, but after a two-year slump, the 26-year-old signal-caller was traded to the Detroit Lions for 33-year-old Matthew Stafford and a haul of draft picks.
After initially being viewed as a salary dump in the Stafford trade, Goff worked his way back through a career revival with the Lions, helping head coach Dan Campbell turn the franchise around. Goff has played some of the best football of his career in Detroit and emerged as a fan favorite last season after helping the Lions win their first playoff game in 32 years.
In 2023, the Lions advanced to the NFC Championship Game. In the offseason, Detroit rewarded Goff with a massive four-year, $212 million extension. After inking the monstrous deal, what is Goff’s salary and net worth? And how much has he earned throughout his NFL career?
What Is Jared Goff’s 2024 Salary?
When Goff signed his lucrative extension with the Lions, he became the fifth member of the NFL’s $50 million club.
Goff will earn $53 million per season, making him the sixth-highest-paid quarterback in the NFL behind Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa ($53.1 million), the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Jordan Love, Jacksonville Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence, Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow ($55 million a piece), and Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott ($60 million).
Goff’s deal, which reportedly features $170 million in guaranteed money, will keep him in the Motor City through the 2027 season and contains an option for the 2028 campaign.
While the deal shocked some, the Lions believe in their core and prioritized extending them. This offseason, they gave four-year deals to three of their franchise cornerstones: Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown ($120 million), and Penei Sewell ($112 million).
It also allows Detroit more time to properly evaluate second-year QB Hendon Hooker, who took his first snaps this preseason after missing a large part of his rookie year. The former Tennessee Volunteer showed flashes during his NFL debut, but with Goff playing at his current level, Hooker won’t have to worry unless he’s thrust into the starting lineup due to injury.
What Is Goff’s Net Worth?
Goff’s net worth is estimated to be between $70 million and $100 million. Some sites put him on the lower end of that range, while others put him on the higher end. Regardless, Goff’s bank account is doing just fine.
By the end of the 2024 season, Goff will have made $241,627,068 in career earnings from his NFL contracts alone. That’s the 12th-highest career earnings in NFL history. Goff has the fifth-highest career earnings among active NFL players, trailing only Aaron Rodgers, Stafford, Russell Wilson, and Kirk Cousins.

That figure doesn’t even take into account Goff’s endorsement deals. While the majority of Goff’s net worth comes from his NFL contracts, he’s also partnered with brands such as Banana Republic, BMW, Bose, Hulu, Nike, Pizza Hut, and Red Bull. In 2019, Goff launched his only clothing line, JG16, and he donates the proceeds to charity.
Goff has invested in several companies, including $10 million in Underdog Fantasy, $4 million in Glasslab, and an undisclosed amount in Friday Beers. In March 2020, he donated $250,000 to the Los Angeles Food Bank during the COVID-19 pandemic.
