James Cook’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

James Cook is the starter in Buffalo and has a juicy matchup this week with the 28th-ranked fantasy running back defense. The Giants are giving up an average of 136 yards per game on the ground. The majority of these yards will come from Cook this week.

When the Bills win going away this year, Cook is averaging 15 carries for 83 yards and over two catches per game. Cook is an upper-tier running back two on our site, but I see a running back one here this week.

Latavius Murray’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

The well-traveled veteran running back from UCF has carved out a role for the Bills, and that is as the goal line back. There is definite fantasy value here, as he scores just about every other game, even though he only gets 4-6 carries. This can be played in your Flex, but 10 points looks like his ceiling unless Cook gets injured.

Damien Harris’ Fantasy Outlook This Week

Damien Harris has to be ecstatic about leaving the Patriots dumpster fire and playing a role on a Super Bowl contender. Harris received about five carries a game but is less likely to fall into the end zone. Harris really shouldn’t be played in fantasy right now, but he definitely can be rostered as a dart throw.

Which of the Bills Running Backs Should You Start?

When deciding whether to play a running back in fantasy, the two main factors are opportunity and matchup. Cook has both this week vs. the lowly Giants without Daniel Jones and possibly Saquon Barkley and Darren Waller. Don’t let the wonky London game (five rushes for -4 yards) last week sour your opinion of Cook; he has a top-five RB upside this week. Murray can be flexed in a pinch, but Harris should be riding your bench or the waiver wire.
