Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley Have Special Mic’d Up Moment During Super Bowl
Once Super Bowl 59 seemed well in hand, it was hard to stop Philadelphia’s sideline from celebrating, including Barkley and Hurts, who shared a touching moment on the sideline in the game’s waning moments.

“Jalen Hurts gonna smile now?” Barkley asked the Eagles’ QB1, to which Hurts responded, “When that s**t hit zero zero.” Barkley pulled him in for a hug, replying, “Good.” However, Hurts continued, “That’s you, that’s you…I know it’s all of us, but you don’t understand the difference you made. You know, we right there, but you like that last piece, man.”
After signing with the Eagles in the offseason, it is undeniable that Saquon Barkley is a piece that helped put the Eagles over the top. Barkley was ranked as the sixth-best free agent signing on PFSN’s Best Free Agents of All Time List.
After spending the first six years of his NFL career with the New York Giants, Barkley left for a three-year, $37.75 million deal with the arch-rival Eagles in free agency.
Barkley finished the 2024 season with 2,005 yards rushing on 345 carries, leading the league in both categories. He became the ninth player of all time to join the 2,000-yard club despite sitting out the final game of the regular season. He also had 13 rushing touchdowns, 33 receptions, 278 receiving yards, and two touchdowns.
He set the Eagles’ single-season record for rushing yards (2,005) and scrimmage yards (2,283). Combining regular season and playoffs, Barkley’s 2,447 rushing yards were 30 yards shy of breaking the most in a single season, entering Super Bowl 59, held by Terrell Davis in 1998 (2,476).
As for Hurts, he finished the 2024 season with 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns, and five interceptions through the air, and 630 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground. In the Super Bowl, he went 17-22 for 221 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception through the air while tacking on 72 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Hurts’ dual-threat ability, combined with Barkley’s explosiveness, gave opposing defenses headaches and allowed the Eagles to control the clock. Philadelphia ranked No. 14 in PFSN’s Offense+ Rankings, with a grade of 77.4 (C+).
Hurts, Barkley, and the rest of the Eagles silenced all the doubters and won the Super Bowl. They will look to build on their success in 2025 and begin their pursuit of another Lombardi Trophy.
