The Philadelphia Eagles‘ season has been unraveling, and their day in New Jersey was not dissimilar. A.J. Brown already left the Giants game with an apparent knee injury, and now Jalen Hurts was seen leaving the field with an injury.
Jalen Hurts Injury Update
Hurts gave his sideline the middle finger after the Eagles’ last offensive drive, but it’s not because he was upset with them. The finger, located on his throwing hand, wasn’t necessarily pointing in the correct direction.

Hurts is a tough cookie. He’s consistently played through bumps and bruises while acting as the Eagles’ QB. He taped the finger up and was quickly seen throwing passes on the sideline in an attempt to return to the game.

He returned to the field for the Eagles’ very next offensive drive with nothing more than that single finger taped up. His first pass was a throwaway, but it appeared to leave his hand just fine.
But Wink Martindale’s defense is currently getting the best of Hurts and the Eagles offensive line with their pressure packages. Hurts had already been pressured nine times before taking a 3rd-and-6 sack to end Philadelphia’s next drive.
Things didn’t improve after the injury. With a 24-0 deficit staring them down, the Eagles’ coaching staff decided it would be prudent to keep Hurts as healthy as possible by inserting Marcus Mariota.
They would have needed to beat New York and have Dallas lose to Washington to win the division. With a 21-10 score in Washington, pulling their starters to rest for their matchup against Tampa Bay next week makes sense.
