Jalen Hurts Leads Philadelphia Eagles to Super Bowl Glory

The Philadelphia Eagles dominated the Kansas City Chiefs in nearly every facet of the game. While the final score of 40-22 shows that it was a blowout, it does not truly convey just how dominant the Eagles were. The Chiefs did not score until there were 34 seconds left in the third quarter. They were losing 34-0 before that point, and as a result, all 22 points were scored in garbage time.

Jalen Hurts played a big role in the offensive explosion. Not only did he significantly outplay Patrick Mahomes, but he dominated the game. He completed 17 of 22 passing attempts for 221 yards and two touchdowns while throwing one interception. However, that interception was not much of an issue because the Chiefs only got the ball at their two-yard line.

Hurts also had an impressive rushing game, leading the team in rushing yards with 72 and a touchdown on 11 carries. He did this despite the Eagles having the best running back in the NFL this season, Saquon Barkley.

As a result of his strong play, Jalen Hurts was named the Super Bowl MVP after the game. There are 20 votes for the Super Bowl MVP. 16 of those votes come from NFL-designated voters, whereas the other four are based on fan voting. Hurts won the MVP after receiving 12 total votes. Josh Sweat finished second in voting with 4.5 votes, and Cooper DeJean was the only other player to earn votes, winning 3.5.

Jalen Hurts and the Eagles appear to be in a good position to defend their championship with most of their core players locked up for next season.
