Jakobi Meyers Dynasty Profile: Fantasy Outlook, Value, Projections, and Rankings

Now a member of the Raiders, what does Jakobi Meyers' future look like, and what is his value in dynasty fantasy football leagues going forward?

As we inch toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the dynasty rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty fantasy football value of wide receiver Jakobi Meyers.

Jakobi Meyers’ Dynasty Outlook and Value

If you were to ask me who the best free agent wide receiver was, my answer would have been Meyers. Ahead of the 2022 season, he was someone I was targeting in the late rounds of every fantasy draft. In 2021, Meyers averaged 11 fantasy points per game, finishing as a WR3. He did that on just two touchdowns. It very much felt like his floor, yet, he was being valued as a WR4/5.

Unsurprisingly, the now former WR1 in New England drastically outperformed his ADP. Meyers commanded a very respectable 22% target share and caught 67 passes for 803 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 12.9 ppg. Meyers was a rock-solid WR3.

Meyers has gone from unheralded UDFA to clear NFL starting receiver. He’s probably better suited for a WR2 role, but that’s a huge accomplishment in its own right.

While mostly an underneath guy, Meyers does well with the targets he gets. Of his routes run, Meyers was targeted on 25.8% of them (22nd in the league), and he averaged 2.18 yards per route run, 19th in the league. He also did this in a truly awful offensive situation.

    Jakobi Meyers’ Fantasy Ranking

Initially, I didn’t love to see Meyers land with the Las Vegas Raiders. Despite the offensive improvement, it was a significant step up in target competition. Fortunately, for Meyers’ fantasy value, the Raiders quickly followed Meyers’ signing by trading Darren Waller to the New York Giants. Suddenly, a whole bunch of targets opened up.

More importantly, the move solidifies Meyers as the second option for Jimmy Garoppolo in the Raiders’ passing attack. As the third option, I wouldn’t have much interest. But now, Meyers has a shot at a 20% target share.

I get why Meyers is being valued as a dynasty WR4. He’s the WR46 (No. 120 overall) in our dynasty Superflex rankings.

Part of valuing players is upside, but Meyers doesn’t really have any. Yet, his floor is legitimately higher than his current value. He may have a low ceiling, but there’s value in what he provides.

At just 26 years old, Meyers should have at least five quality years left. He’s someone I’m not opposed to selecting in dynasty startup drafts.
