As we inch toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty fantasy football value of Jake Ferguson.
Jake Ferguson’s Dynasty Outlook and Value
There’s obviously not much NFL data on Ferguson. The Cowboys drafted him in the fourth round last year, and he was a solid — if unspectacular — prospect. He’s not particularly fast or explosive.
Ferguson was able to get his snap share pretty high up there in a couple of games this season due to Dalton Schultz’s injuries. However, he didn’t do anything with the expanded opportunity. Ferguson caught 19 of 22 targets for 174 yards and two touchdowns.

Ferguson’s production isn’t overly discouraging. We don’t expect much from rookie tight ends anyway. What does concern me is how his playing time decreased as the season went on. We would expect the opposite.
From Weeks 1-13, Ferguson averaged over a 50% snap share. However, his highest snap share over the final five weeks was 29%.
Jake Ferguson’s Fantasy Ranking
Ferguson is still just 24 years old, playing the most difficult position to learn at the NFL level, and entering his second season. The book is not closed on him, but I don’t have high hopes.
The main selling point on Ferguson is Schultz’s departure. Ferguson is poised to enter the 2023 season as the team’s presumptive TE1. That’s worth rostering in dynasty leagues, even if he does not pan out.
Just be mindful that being the TE1 doesn’t necessarily mean he will dominate snaps. Peyton Hendershot is just as likely to be the primary tight end as Ferguson.
We currently have Ferguson at TE35 (No. 236 overall) in our dynasty Superflex rankings. If the Cowboys don’t do anything of note at tight end, he will tick up a bit higher. However, I don’t see him reaching a level where he’s a must-roster player.
Given the state of the tight end position, if you wanted to take a shot on the uncertainty surrounding Ferguson in dynasty startup drafts, I wouldn’t fault you. Just know it’s a long shot, at best.
