The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested Jones at 6:03 p.m. ET, per Duval County Jail records. He was charged with domestic battery causing bodily harm.
Jones’ first court appearance will take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, ESPN reports.
The Jaguars issued a statement to ESPN: “We are aware of the situation and are in the midst of gathering information. We will have no further comment at this time.”
Jones, 28, has been limited by a knee injury this season and has only appeared in three of Jacksonville’s nine games. He’s posted eight receptions for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
Jones signed a three-year, $24 million contract with the Jaguars in 2022. He appeared in 16 games in his debut Jacksonville season, putting up an 82-823-5 line.
Jones attended East Carolina University before the Buffalo Bills selected him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was traded to the then-Oakland Raiders midway through the 2019 campaign, ultimately spending most of the next three years with the club.
