While the Jacksonville Jaguars have a solid quarterback in Trevor Lawrence, they’ve often been criticized for lacking a reliable wide receiver. But that may be changing. The Jaguars added a new receiver who could play a key role in turning their fortunes around this season.
On the first day of Free Agency, NFL reporter Mike Garafolo shared the news of another wide receiver joining the Jaguars. Naturally, fans were excited about the latest addition.

Trevor Lawrence Gets Help as Jaguars Sign a Free Agent
“WR Dyami Brown to the #Jaguars on a one-year, $10 million deal worth up to $12 million,” Garafolo tweeted.
Brown just finished his four-year, $4.94 million rookie contract with the Washington Commanders, capping it off with a strong playoff performance. The 25-year-old recorded 14 catches for 229 yards and a touchdown in three postseason games. Given his production, it was expected that Brown would attract plenty of interest in free agency.
While experts projected he might land a three-year deal worth around $7.3 million, securing a one-year, $10 million contract is a significant jump. He could quickly become one of Lawrence’s top targets.
One of Jacksonville’s biggest weaknesses has been its receiving corps. Though Christian Kirk has been a strong addition, he hasn’t always been as consistent as expected. His performances have alternated between standout games and average outings, making it clear the Jaguars needed another playmaker.
What Does the Jaguars’ Roster Look Like?
The Jaguars also have a dependable receiver in Brian Thomas Jr., who had 87 receptions for 1,282 yards during the 2024 season. Kirk contributed with 404 receptions. Adding Brown should further strengthen the unit. Meanwhile, the Jaguars have also signed tight end Hunter Long.
According to Garafolo, Long agreed to a two-year, $5 million contract with a max value of $6 million.

“New #Jaguars TE Hunter Long’s deal: Two years, $5 million with a $6 million max value. GM James Gladstone taps into a familiar face from his time with the #Rams,” Garafolo tweeted.
Long joined the Rams as part of the Jalen Ramsey trade in 2023 and has primarily been used as a blocking tight end. His impact has been limited due to injuries, but the Jaguars seem to have plans for him in their system.
With these moves, Jacksonville appears to be building a more complete team. And perhaps no one is happier than Lawrence, who now has more weapons to work with heading into the season.
