Former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh has received a lifeline as the Jacksonville Jaguars get on the hunt for a leader in 2025.
The morning after the Jaguars ended their season (4-13), HC Doug Pederson was shown the door. Now, the Jags are interviewing several candidates for the open position. However, Saleh’s name is on top of fans’ tongues.
Fans Have Their Say as Robert Saleh Could Be Going Back to Jacksonville
Saleh is among the eight names that the Jaguars have listed for interview requests. However, he won’t be a stranger in town. Saleh worked as the linebackers coach for the Jags from 2014 to 2016.

Woody Johnson Doesn’t Regret Firing Saleh
In a recent interview with the New York Post, Jets owner Woody Johnson cleared his name from allegations of mismanagement.
The 77-year-old also opened up regarding Saleh’s firing, suggesting he has no qualms about it.
“No, not at all,” Johnson said regarding regrets related to Saleh being let go. “I was very, very sure that I was making the right decision. I didn’t do it to spark or anything like that. I didn’t do it for that reason. I just knew everything that I needed to know about that situation.”
In his full three seasons as the Jets HC, the 45-year-old Saleh finished at the bottom of the AFC East twice and once in third place. Saleh ended his career with the Jets with a win percentage of .357.
