The New England Patriots suffered a difficult loss to the New York Giants on Sunday, with New England falling to 2-9 on the season. Frankly, the Patriots have not been good this season. But now even their players are admitting it!
What Did Jabrill Peppers Say?
The Patriots lost 10-7 to the Giants in a game that New York should count themselves lucky to have won. And it appears Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers thinks the same.
A video has been released that shows Peppers being caught in action. NFL Films captured the footage for Inside the NFL.
The video shows Peppers hugging and talking to Giants running back Saquon Barkley on the field after the game. It was a friendly embrace with the pair who had played together previously when Peppers was in New York from 2019 to 2021.
Peppers is seen running up to Barkley and embracing him before a hot mic picks up his words. “You Lucky we a**,” Peppers says to Barkley, who laughs it off.
The game involved 16 punts, with Patriots kicker Chad Ryland missing a 35-yard field goal attempt that would have sent the game to overtime.

The Patriots safety has not been the problem, though. Peppers recovered a fumble in the first quarter of the game. Peppers also registered a sack on the day and has been a bright spark in a bleak season for New England.
In the video, Peppers definitely didn’t know he was on camera or that there were mics, but he sums up what a lot of fans were thinking after the game.
What Was the Reaction From Fans
Fans on social media have found it hard to disagree with Peppers.
On X, formally known as Twitter, fans shared their takes. Most fans saw the funny side of Peppers’ soundbite, with many sharing their thoughts.
“You know it’s bad when the players are saying it,” said one Pats fan, acknowledging the difficult season the Patriots are having.
“Best highlight of the year…..and he right btw…we a**,” shared another, choosing to see the lighter side of Peppers’ remarks.
Patriots fans are used to winning and are extremely unhappy with how the 2023 season has gone. “Sums up the season in one sentence,” a fan explained, expressing disappointment.
