Dan Orlovsky Backs Cam Ward Over Shedeur Sanders

On Monday’s edition of Get Up on ESPN, analysts Dan Orlovsky and Mike Tannenbaum discussed who they believe is the best quarterback in this class. Orlovsky made it clear that Ward was his choice over Sanders.

“It’s not all that close,” Orlovsky said. “I think he’s clearly the best quarterback in this class. Reminds me a lot of Baker Mayfield. I love how loose his arm is, but also how twitchy of an athlete he is. He measured close to six-foot-two, makes me feel really good. And honestly, the stuff that he does within the pocket has me way more excited than the stuff that he does outside of the pocket.”

Tannenbaum agreed. “I think there’s a massive line from Cam Ward to anybody: Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart,” he said, while also highlighting Ward’s explosive playmaking, pointing out his 74 plays of 20 yards or more last season.

At the end of the previous season, Ward threw for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while completing 67.2% of his passes. In contrast, Sanders completed 74% of his passes for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

Cam Ward Finds Another Suitor in Former Giants RB

The New York Giants have the chance to select either Sanders or Ward with the No. 3 pick in this year’s draft. There are also rumors that the team might trade up to No. 1 to secure their preferred choice.

Giants running back Tyrone Tracy recently shared his thoughts on both quarterbacks. While fans are divided, Tracy mentioned he likes Ward’s style of play. He quickly corrected himself, saying he liked both players.

“I would prefer Cam Ward,” Tracy said. “Not prefer, I don’t want to say prefer. But I do like Cam Ward. I like his play style. But at the same time, Shedeur, he can come in and do his thing and nobody’s going to say nothing… I really don’t care who comes in, I really don’t. As long as you come in, put your best foot forward, and be a team player.”

Tracy noted that Ward may need to refine his accuracy, while Sanders could improve his athleticism. “Just like little things that make them a little bit better than the other person…”

Tracy emphasized that the most important factor is having a quarterback who can be a leader and learn the team’s system. With the draft approaching, Giants fans are eager to see which player will join the team and help them succeed.
