Shortly before the Chiefs’ fourth touchdown of the game, Isiah Pacheco jogged off the field. He was shown talking to trainers on the sideline. What is the latest on the Kansas City Chiefs RB’s injury?
What Happened to Isiah Pacheco?
Pacheco jogged the sideline after a carry with his left arm barely moving. At this point, it’s unclear exactly what happened to the Chiefs RB, but the sideline reporter indicated it was an injury to his ribs.
Pacheco had just 18 yards on six carries prior to leaving the game.
Potential Fantasy Fallout From Isiah Pacheco’s Injury
Since returning from IR, Pacheco hasn’t quite looked like himself. This backfield has already been a timeshare between Pacheco and Kareem Hunt, with Samaje Perine handling obvious passing down situations.
If Pacheco is out, Hunt will resume his status as the lead back, handling more work than he is now. His usage will look largely like it did while Pacheco was on IR. We also might see Carson Steele sprinkle in for a handful of snaps.
With the Chiefs locking up the No. 1 seed with today’s near-certain victory over the Steelers, don’t expect to see Pacheco or any of the starters in Week 18. In fact, there’s a very good chance that includes Hunt as well.
