Ever since Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce hurt himself in the preseason, fantasy football managers have been waiting for him to take the field. Will the high draft capital spent on Kelce pay off this week?
Kelce scared everyone when he suffered a hyperextended knee during practice before the start of the season. The knee was severely inflamed, and a large amount of blood was drained from it.
Kelce had not missed a game due to injury since 2013 — a big reason for drafting him — and even though all the ligaments were intact, he couldn’t do enough to recover and get on the field against the Detroit Lions.

Is Travis Kelce Going To Play Week 2?
Much to managers’ delight, Kelce returned to practice this past Wednesday and was limited. He finished the week with more limited practice, and offensive coordinator Matt Nagy has said he looks good. Kelce even poked fun at fans, posting a video of himself grabbing his knee at practice and then breaking out some dance moves.

Andy Reid told reporters that Kelce will play on Sunday, and it was confirmed on Saturday. It will be great to see Kelce back in the lineup, especially in a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars that should be a high-scoring affair.
Potential Fantasy Options if Kelce Is Out
If Kelce suffers a ridiculous setback and you need to pivot, there are some possible TE options available on the waiver wire. The Chiefs play in the early slate of games, so if something horrible happens and Kelce is held out, fantasy managers will have time to look for a replacement.
