New England Patriots RB Ezekiel Elliott joined the team this season with hopes of becoming the RB2 behind Rhamondre Stevenson.
The Patriots are having all sorts of problems, and Elliott has been cruising along, giving average fantasy football production. He is the RB40 on the season, which is below what managers were hoping for, but in the offense that New England is dealing with, it actually isn’t too bad. Elliott has three weeks with fantasy finishes in the top 24.
Is Ezekiel Elliott Going To Play Week 13?
The Patriots continue to get bad news as Elliott is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s games against the Los Angeles Chargers. Elliott was limited in New England’s three practices this week, and fantasy managers will probably have to wait until Sunday morning to hear if he can go. I think Elliott should play, and he is the RB33 in PFN’s Consensus Rankings.

Even though Elliott is a backup for Stevenson, who always gets the lion’s share of the work, It is a decent matchup; the Chargers give up the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing RBs.
Potential Fantasy Options if Elliott Is Out Include Rhamondre Stevenson and JaMycal Hasty
Stevenson would obviously be the beneficiary if Elliott is sidelined. Stevenson had a rough start to the 2023 season, but since Week 6, he has only finished outside the top-21 one time.
Elliott has been averaging 39% of the RB rushing attempts, so there definitely will be some carries to go around if he misses Sunday’s game. Outside of Stevenson, JaMycal Hasty is next up on the depth chart and could also see some carries. Hasty is not a fantasy option on a team that is imploding offensively. Stevenson is the only startable asset.
