Is Donald Trump at Super Bowl 59? Examining Whether the President Is Attending the Chiefs vs. Eagles Clash

Will the President of the United States be in attendance for Super Bowl 59 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles?

The Super Bowl is always a star-studded affair, but this year’s clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles might have the President of the United States joining fans in attendance to take in the action. It is the first time a sitting President could partake in the big game live from the stadium.

While President Donald Trump confirmed his attendance a while ago, plans can certainly change for the most powerful man in the country. As a result, what is the current status regarding his attendance?

Is President Donald Trump Attending the Super Bowl?

It seems like there hasn’t been any change in plans. According to the latest updates, Trump is going to be live and in attendance at the Caesars Superdome. However, it isn’t his first time attending the big game.

Back in 1992, when the Buffalo Bills were in the midst of making and losing four straight Super Bowls, Trump attended their 37-24 rout against Washington, led by their quarterback and eventual Super Bowl MVP, Mark Rypien.

This time, he’s coming in as the winner of the 2024 Presidential election and the stars of the game are already excited about the prospect. Jalen Hurts, who is perpetually stoic in interviews, didn’t offer much insight into the President’s appearance.

Instead, he calmly responded with, “He’s welcome to do whatever he wants.” Perhaps he heard about Trump picking the Kansas City Chiefs as the winner.

During an interview with Fox News, he made his official pick, claiming quarterback Patrick Mahomes as the primary reason. “I hate to do it. I just say that I’ve watched this great quarterback, who by the way, has a phenomenal wife. She’s a Trump fan, she’s a MAGA fan, so I happen to love her, okay?”

Nonetheless, the résumé of Mahomes, who’s attempting to win his fourth Super Bowl in five attempts as he finishes his eighth season in the league is hard for the President to overlook — not to mention that the Chiefs are attempting to make history as the only team to three-peat in the Super Bowl era.

“I guess you have to say when a quarterback wins as much as this one, I have to go with Kansas City. At the same time, Philadelphia is fantastic, it’s just going to be a great game.”

When asked about it, Mahomes seemed ecstatic at the prospect of being able to perform in front of Trump, claiming, “It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting President. Someone that is at the top position in our country.”

Travis Kelce also acknowledged the honor of the moment: “That’s awesome, it’s a great honor no matter who the President is.”

With the rematch from two years ago set for a date in New Orleans, and with superstars like Kendrick Lamar and SZA set to take the Super Bowl Halftime Show by storm, it should be an electric atmosphere that President Donald Trump walks into.
