Will Dalton Kincaid Be Active in Week 7?

As a friendly reminder, Wednesday practices don’t mean much at this point in the year. Teams tend to play it safe with banged-up players. We often see veterans get rest days.

Just one week ago, Trey Sermon appeared on the Indianapolis Colts’ practice report with a collarbone injury. I remarked how it’s not something I can ever remember seeing outside of broken collarbones, which are multi-week injuries. As fate would have it, here we are one week later and Kincaid was also limited with what is probably a similar issue.

Kincaid was limited on both Wednesday and Thursday before finally logging a full practice on Friday. He did not receive a final injury designation at all, making him good to go vs. the Titans.

Since the Bills played on Monday, their Wednesday practice was merely a walkthrough. Kincaid initially wore a red non-contact jersey on Thursday, but that appears to have been a precautionary measure.

    Kincaid’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

Fantasy managers will certainly be glad to hear they’ll have Kincaid this week. But that’s about as excited as you should get. This is not a great spot for the Bills TE.

The Titans have been a surprisingly good defense this season. They’ve been especially stingy against tight ends. Just 15.9% of the total receiving yards allowed by the Titans have gone to tight ends, and they’re allowing the fewest fantasy points per game to the position.

We want to place things in the proper context, though. The Titans have defended tight ends well. They also haven’t really faced a top tight end. The best one they’ve defended is Tucker Kraft.

Kincaid may only be averaging 8.1 fantasy points per game on the season, but he’s seeing a healthy 20.7% target share. That’s also likely to take a hit with Amari Cooper joining the lineup, though he might not be take a full share of snaps this week after just arriving on Tuesday.

Given that Kincaid’s 8.1 PPG is actually the overall TE12 on the year, it’s doubtful anyone rostering him has an alternative that would justify benching Kincaid. Stick with the sophomore TE and hope Josh Allen can find him in the end zone.

With Kincaid able to go, Dawson Knox does not hold any fantasy value. Even with Knox’s longstanding rapport with Josh Allen, the sixth-year tight end only has four catches for 42 yards on the season and has gone without a catch in three of the six games played so far.
