NFL Insider Sheds Light on Cam Ward and Quinn Ewers’ Combine Plans

The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine is set to take place from Feb. 27 through March 2, starting at 3 p.m. ET for the first two days and at 1 p.m. ET for the last two days.

As the quarterbacks, running backs, and receivers prepare to arrive in Indianapolis for the four-day event, Tom Pelissero weighed in on Ewers and Ward’s plans for the NFL Combine.

“They’ll be in interviews tonight. The workout for those players is still out on Saturday, and there are some players who are still finalizing their plans, including Cam Ward, perhaps the No. 1 quarterback in this draft,” Pelissero said.

“I spoke yesterday with his quarterback coach, Darryl Colbert, who he’s worked with for a number of years. He told me that Cam Ward is undecided at this point about whether or not he is going to throw here in Indianapolis or wait until the Pro Day. Colbert said they actually did combine prep all day yesterday in their throwing session.

“So Cam Ward, at least he’s preparing as if he’s going to come here and show what he can do on Saturday. Colbert said he’s a very, very competitive guy. He’s got a chip on his shoulder. So you would think maybe this is an alluring opportunity.”

Pelissero further spoke about the Texas Longhorns star, Ewers, who suffered an injury during the 2024 CFB season and missed two games in the middle of the season.

According to the report, Ewers is “fully recovered now from a torn oblique that he played with basically this entire season.”

Pelissero also shared that Ewers has increased his weight to about 215 pounds and has been working with the former Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy, who says he’s been impressed with the Longhorns star as a young man and appreciates his attentiveness.
