The fantasy football IDP report will provide an early look at several waiver wire priorities of varying league sizes, along with preliminary Week 14 IDP rankings. Since all leagues are different sizes and have differing IDP requirements, the weekly rankings might be more beneficial than the waiver list.
As usual, the rankings are a reflection of IDP Flex rankings for tackle-heavy formats. Let’s get you into and set up for the playoffs!
Nik Bonitto, DE, Denver Broncos
If you watched much of the Monday Night Football game, you’re likely well aware now of who Nik Bonitto is. Bonitto has been flying a bit under the radar as the third edge player to start 2024 for the Denver Broncos.
In Week 13, he crushed it with a long pick-six and a sack. The sack brings him to 11 in his last 11 games. The tackles are fluctuating, but the sack production has been remarkably consistent.
Omar Speights, LB, Los Angeles Rams
I’ve been holding back on writing up Omar Speights for a few weeks now. His production has been okay, but the playing time still isn’t ideal. It might be too late now, though, as the undrafted rookie linebacker posted the best performance of his young career.
Despite playing just 64% of the Los Angeles Rams’ defensive snaps, Speights tallied his first career double-digit sack performance. He now has 31 total tackles over the last four weeks. He’s also been strong in PFF’s defensive metrics and was actually the Rams’ top defender in Week 13!
J.J. Russell, LB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In Week 13, Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB K.J. Britt left the game with an ankle injury and was replaced by J.J. Russell. With Britt unable to return, he’s certainly at risk for Week 14 and possibly beyond.
That brings Russell to the IDP discussions. Week 13 saw the third-year LB tie his season high in tackles with five, and he should have an opportunity to better that in Week 14.
Russell is a deeper name only, but with six teams on bye, you may need anyone who can post a decent tackle performance.
Jordan Battle, S, Cincinnati Bengals
Several times now we’ve talked about Jordan Battle and Vonn Bell and what to do for IDP. They were at the top of my watchlist coming off the Week 12 bye, and sure enough, the Cincinnati Bengals finally seem ready to make Battle the primary box safety.
Week 13 wasn’t Battle’s best performance, as he only posted five total tackles in the game. More encouraging, though, was his 75% snap share, and a whopping 70% was in or near the box.
As the Bengals fall further out of the playoffs, Battle should push towards 100% of snaps, and better tackle performances will come.

Top IDP Players To Start in Week 14
Josey Jewell, LB, Carolina Panthers
All Josey Jewell seems to do is produce for IDP. Week 13 saw him produce his third double-digit tackle performance of the year, and he’s totaled at least five tackles in each game this season.
Now Jewell and the Carolina Panthers get to play the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14. While the matchup is less than ideal for the offense, it means a lot of Saquon Barkley, so expect several more tackles in Week 14.
Jewell is unlikely to pick up a sack again after doing so in two straight weeks, but another double-digit tackle game could be in the offing.
Julian Love, S, Seattle Seahawks
I was struggling with Julian Love after Rayshawn Jenkins returned from injured reserve in Week 12. Prior to the injury, Jenkins was the box safety, with Love playing deep. When he went down, the Seahawks moved Coby Bryant to deep safety and let Love play near the line.
While Jenkins has played quite a bit near the line, Love is still seeing a fair bit of a box/slot role. His tackle totals have been in flux quite a bit recently, but even last week’s six-tackle game was strong, considering they were all solo tackles. Now he gets the Cardinals and likely a heavy dose of James Conner.
