The 3:29 mark of the fourth quarter summed up the type of night Davante Adams had in the Motor City on Monday Night Football.
The Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver threw his helmet down in disgust and appeared to have muttered some expletives — all on a night he didn’t even catch two passes. Adams dealt with drops, overthrown passes, fans calling out the play-calling and his Raiders dropping to 3-5 after the 26-14 loss to the Detroit Lions.
With that anger, many believed Adams would be verbose and blunt about the Raiders’ dismal night, plus share honesty of his own performance. Instead, Adams’ words wound up surprising many.

Davante Adams Postgame: ‘I Don’t Know What To Say at This Moment’
Adams instead went with a different approach in addressing his latest frustrating night — he chose to avoid, by his admission, saying the type of things that wouldn’t cause ripple effects across the media landscape.
“Honestly, I don’t know what to say at this moment. I truly don’t,” Adams began when addressing reporters after the 12-point loss. “Wish I had the words to say something that won’t get blown up in the media and taken out of context. So I’m just gotta, don’t know.”

He was asked, though, how he was feeling at the moment.
“Frustration. But that goes without saying,” Adams said.
Has Adams Lost Confidence in Raiders’ Offense?
Adams’ one catch for 11 yards marks his lowest output of the season.
Furthermore, it adds to what’s already been a tension-building relationship between he and the Raiders as his role in Josh McDaniels’ scheme has come more and more into light.
Has it gotten to the point where Adams has begun to lose confidence in the Raiders’ offense?

“No, it’s not hard to maintain the confidence in our offense,” Adams said. “The frustration is when you can’t put it together.”
Lastly, he was asked where does he and the Raiders go from here.
“Just keep trying to get better,” he succinctly said.
Can Adams Still Be Dealt? Trade Deadline Looms
As Adams’ numbers have taken a downturn, the thoughts of him being traded and getting a new start have trended upward.
ESPN NFL and college football analyst Robert Griffin III fired off this strong suggestion between now and the 4 p.m. ET deadline for trades.
“Raiders should do Davante Adams a solid and trade him. He deserves it,” Griffin III posted. “He came there to play for his favorite team, they got rid of the QB [Derek Carr] he came there to play with and he has one catch tonight. Don’t subject him to anymore of this dysfunction.”

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, however, said during the MNF broadcast that he’s not anticipating the Raiders to make any kind of deal at the trade deadline. If true, it points to an extended stay for the man the Raiders traded for in March 2022.
