Former NFL safety and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Ed Reed outlined how he would not be surprised to see Deion Sanders become the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. While appearing alongside Kay Adams on “Up & Adams,” Reed detailed how he emulated Coach Prime when he played and shared his numerous passions growing up.
As a result, Reed explained how he would not be surprised at all to see Sanders return to the NFL as a head coach.
Ed Reed Considers Deion Sanders’ Coaching Candidacy
Reed detailed how he and Coach Prime go way back and have coached against each other at numerous different stages along the way. Reed has spent time in his post-playing career with the Buffalo Bills, Miami Hurricanes, and (very briefly) Bethune-Cookman. Sanders is currently the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes.
“Me and Prime actually coached against each other in Under Armour games and high school and stuff like that,” he said.
He later added how he would not be surprised if Sanders jumped to the NFL as a head coach at some point in the future.

“I wouldn’t be surprised. I emulated Prime when I played. I did his dance a few times, so you know, I wouldn’t be surprised,” he said.
Will Deion Sanders Coach in the NFL?
There is an expectation and belief that Prime Time will make a move to the NFL at some point in the future. However, it is still unclear when that may be.
Rumors have intensified in recent weeks about that move coming as early as next season after reports emerged that Sanders and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had discussed the possibility of him becoming the next head coach of “America’s Team” in the wake of Mike McCarthy’s departure.
While Sanders did confirm that this conversation did take place, he also reaffirmed his commitment to the ongoing project at the University of Colorado. Recently, in addition to the on-field success this season, Sanders confirmed that the football program had its highest average GPA in the history of the program.
Thus, Sanders may be farther from the NFL than the rumor mill may suggest. As he continues to find success with the Buffaloes, the eyes of the football world will be locked on Colorado.
