Howie Roseman loves a good heist, and this time, the Philadelphia Eagles mastermind might be plotting one at Washington Commanders’ expense. The Commanders reportedly have their sights set on a $125 million superstar, but an insider claims Philly could swoop in and ruin their plans.
Roseman has a history of outmaneuvering rivals, and if there’s even a whiff of an opportunity to mess with Washington and upgrade the Eagles, you know he’s sniffing around.

Eagles vs. Commanders: Howie Roseman Plotting to Block Myles Garrett Move?
Roseman might be cooking up another NFC East chess move – this time to keep Myles Garrett. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that the Eagles do not want to see Garrett land with the Commanders and could step in with an offer the Browns can’t refuse.

Cleveland’s stance? Not budging.
GM Andrew Berry reaffirmed at the NFL Combine that they are “not interested in moving him” (via ESPN’s Adam Schefter). But the market isn’t cooling. Executives around the league believe Philly will pursue a pass rusher, especially with Josh Sweat expected to leave in free agency after an impressive season and dominating in Super Bowl 59 with 2.5 sacks and a forced pick.
Sweat, 27, played on a $10M deal last season and is now primed for a major payday. The Eagles could lose their top edge rusher, with Nolan Smith stepping into a bigger role and rookie Jalyx Hunt still unproven. That’s where Garrett enters the conversation.
The Browns are preparing a monster extension, but Garrett wants out. Multiple teams are circling, willing to part with a first-round pick and more. The Eagles have made splashy trades before (A.J. Brown, Haason Reddick, Ronald Darby). And with Roseman’s history of cap magic, a Garrett move wouldn’t be shocking.
The draft looms as a key deadline. But if Roseman wants him, you know he’ll make a run.
Howie Roseman Preps for Eagles’ Roster Shake-Up

Howie Roseman’s offseason playbook is wide open. The Eagles’ GM, still healing from that celebratory beer can shot at the parade, made it clear: Philly’s roster is about to change.
“It may look different – some of the moves that we may have to make here may not be what are necessarily on other people’s minds,” Roseman said at the NFL Combine, urging
Eagles fans to stay patient. “It’s probably not going to look like maybe the conventional wisdom thinks it should look. I would just ask our fans to just have patience throughout the offseason. The offseason doesn’t stop in free agency. The offseason doesn’t stop in the draft.”
Free agency and the draft are looming, and Roseman isn’t sticking to conventional wisdom. Expect surprises.
Last year, he aced the offseason, landing RB Saquon Barkley, LB Zack Baun, and elite rookie cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. Now, with key free agents – Sweat included – hitting the market, he’s back to work.
