The 2023 iteration of Hard Knocks begins Thursday night on HBO, with the show following the star-studded and promising young Jets team headlined by quarterback and newcomer Aaron Rodgers.
2023 promises to be the best chance that the Jets have had to be real contenders in the NFL, and with a fun cast of characters to follow, this year’s Hard Knocks promises to be must-watch TV.
Budding star Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, fresh off Defensive Rookie of The Year honors, promises to be a star of the show with his tremendous skill set and fun personality as we get a closer look into the face of this talented Jets defense.
Not to be forgotten on the other side of the ball is wide receiver Garrett Wilson, fresh off his own Offensive Rookie of The Year campaign. Wilson will look to connect and thrive with Rodgers as the Jets go through camp looking for their first playoff birth since 2010.
Head coach Robert Saleh and Co. have built a contending roster, and while playing in New York can cause a lot of distractions on its own, adding more lights and cameras to the mix will surely be a test for him and his staff.
The Jets have a ton of potential and are one of the most intriguing teams in the NFL this season. While there seems to be real optimism surrounding the squad, if the Jets are going to make it anywhere this year, they will have to first start by conquering HBO’s Hard Knocks.

Storylines To Watch
- Aaron Rodgers and his teammates: A lot has been made of the turmoil between Rodgers and his previous stop, but with a fresh start with a new organization, it’ll be interesting to see just how Rodgers and his teammates mesh in his first season outside of Green Bay.
- The Dalvin Cook visit: The star running back is still currently a free agent without a home. However, while Hard Knocks crews were rolling, Cook stopped by Jets headquarters, and what that time spent together looked like remains a mystery … for now.
- Nathaniel Hackett vs. Sean Payton: This “beef” was not on the training camp bingo card, but nonetheless, we are here for it. We saw Hackett speak to the media regarding the spicy remarks from Payton, but the cameras are always rolling, and this may be able to give us a real inside look at how Hackett and the guys in that building handled the situation.
