In the regular season, the Steelers and Patriots have met 29 different times. The Steelers own the series by just one game, with a 15-14 lead. The last time the two teams met was Sept. 18, 2022, when the Patriots beat the Steelers 17-14.
In the playoffs, the two teams have faced off five times. While the Steelers own the regular season series, the Patriots have dominated the playoff series. The Patriots are 4-1 all-time against the Steelers in the playoffs. They’ve met in the AFC Championship Game three times and the AFC Divisional Round twice.
Most recently, the Steelers traveled to New England for the 2016 AFC Championship Game on Jan. 22, 2017. The Patriots went on to win that game 36-17. The Patriots won the Super Bowl that season, beating the Atlanta Falcons in the infamous 28-3 comeback.
The two will face off once again on Thursday Night Football in Week 14. The Patriots have struggled this season and sit at 2-10. The Steelers, on the other hand, are fighting to keep their playoff chances alive, sitting at 7-5. The game will take place in Pittsburgh.
