How Many Sons Does Andy Reid Have? A Look at the Chiefs Head Coach’s Family Tree

    Published on

Andy Reid's three sons made the decision to pursue careers in football like their father. Here's a deeper look at the coach's family tree.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is an almost certain pick for the Pro Football Hall of Fame once his coaching career comes to an end. And of his five children with his wife Tammi — daughters Crosby and Drew Ann, sons Garrett, Britt, and Spencer — Reid’s three sons followed in their dad’s footsteps, focusing on careers in football.

Here’s a look at the three sons in the family tree of the two-time Super Bowl-winning head coach and a brief intro to his two daughters as well. The family moved a fair amount during Reid’s career, something he’s displayed gratitude for.

    Oh, and he’s a grandpa of 12.

    Garrett Reid

Garrett was the oldest of five children, born while his father was in graduate school at BYU in Utah. As an adult, he dealt with drug addiction for about a decade and, in 2007, was sentenced to 23 months in jail for a car accident while on drugs.

Tragically, Garrett passed in 2012 while at the training camp of the Philadelphia Eagles at Lehigh University. Reid, who was serving as an assistant to the strength and conditioning coach for the Eagles, reportedly died as a result of an accidental heroin overdose.

He was just 29 years of age.

    Britt Reid

Britt was the second of Andy and Tammi’s five children, born in San Francisco in 1985, while Andy served as the San Francisco State offensive line coach.

Britt began his coaching career in 2008 as an assistant coach for St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia. After a year as an intern with the Eagles, Reid worked as a grad assistant with the Temple Owls’ football program for two seasons (2011-12) before joining his father in Kansas City.

Britt began as a defensive quality control coach with the Chiefs for two seasons (2013-14) before being promoted to assistant defensive line coach in 2015. He would serve one season in that role before earning another promotion, this time becoming the defensive line coach in 2016.

After three seasons, Britt became the linebackers/outside linebackers coach in 2019 and served in that role for two seasons.

But much like his older brother Garrett, Britt battled through drug and legal problems. In 2007, Britt was sentenced, along with his brother, to up to 23 months on drug-related charges.

In February 2021, three days before the Chiefs would play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV, Reid was behind the wheel when he crashed into two vehicles that had stopped along the side of a road on the highway.

The accident left five people injured, including a five-year-old girl.

In November 2022, Britt was sentenced to three years in prison for driving while intoxicated.

    Spencer Reid

Spencer is the youngest of the five children and another son of Andy, who has made a career in football a goal. He played football at Temple and, since the end of his playing days, has been on the strength and conditioning staffs for a number of teams, both in college and the NFL.

At the collegiate level, Spencer has been on the coaching staffs of Colorado State, Boston College, and BYU, serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.

    Reid’s Daughters

Reid has two daughters, Nos. 3 and 4 in the birth order. Crosby Reid, the third child, maintains a relatively private life. She grew up in Pennsylvania and came to the limelight in 2015 when she sang the national anthem before a Chiefs game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Drew Ann Reid, the fourth child, earned a degree in public relations. She married Devin Woodhouse, and together they have three children. Drew Ann is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and maintains a low profile on social media.
