This 2025 NFL Mock Draft follows the Houston Texans as they embark on a quest to attain Super Bowl supremacy.
How can the Texans use the 2025 class to their advantage, and what opportunities are on the horizon?
Who Could the Houston Texans Draft in the 2025 NFL Draft?
Note: The draft order for the 2025 NFL Mock Draft was derived from my record and playoff predictions for the 2024 NFL regular season.
2.36) Houston Texans (from NO): Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
Projected Trade: Saints receive No. 32 overall pick; Texans receive No. 36 overall pick, No. 101 overall pick, 2026 third-round pick
Trading back, the Texans still acquire a top target in Emeka Egbuka. Egbuka is the perfect utility WR to replace Robert Woods at 6’1″, 205 pounds, and he has pre-existing chemistry with C.J. Stroud going back to their days at Ohio State.
2.64) Houston Texans: Jeremiah Cooper, S, Iowa State
The idea of pairing Jeremiah Cooper with Jalen Pitre is intriguing. Pitre is a do-it-all safety with proficiency as an attacker at the short and intermediate levels.
Cooper is the malleable intermediate and deep safety with elite playmaking potential.
Rounds 4-7
4.101) Luke Kandra, OG, Cincinnati (from NO)
4.116) Aamir Hall, CB, Michigan (from ATL)
4.129) Gabe Jacas, EDGE, Illinois
5.161) Jo’Quavious Marks, RB, USC
7.225) Ty Hamilton, DT, Ohio State
Texans 2025 NFL Mock Draft Analysis
As their placement indicates at 32nd overall, the Texans are my Super Bowl pick for the 2024 regular season. But that shouldn’t stop them for striving for sustained success — just look at the Chiefs.
Houston will be looking to unseat them long-term. They need the draft to do it.
In this 2025 NFL Mock Draft, the Texans start off on a high note. Not only do they add an arguable first-round talent in Round 2, but that player also has pre-existing chemistry with Stroud. That player is Emeka Egbuka.
Set to potentially lose Stefon Diggs and Robert Woods, Egbuka’s draft emergence comes at the right time for Houston. He’s the perfect movement-Z receiver to pair with Nico Collins and Tank Dell, and his chemistry with Stroud ensures that he can hit the ground running.
With their second early-round pick, the Texans added safety Jeremiah Cooper from Iowa State. They drafted Calen Bullock for a similar role in 2024, but Cooper has already proven himself as an extremely intelligent and versatile safety on the back end with truly elite playmaking genes.
With five selections on Day 3, the Texans only continued their hot streak. On offense, they added a developmental player and immediate depth piece in Luke Kandra. And Jo’Quavious Marks — a USC running back originally from Mississippi State — complements Joe Mixon well with his pass-catching ability.
Defensively, the Texans were able to add quality players at cornerback, defensive tackle, and EDGE. Gabe Jacas profiles well as a rotational pass rusher.
Ty Hamilton is a sturdy interior presence, and Aamir Hall quietly has the size, length, competitiveness, and ball skills to enter the boundary conversation opposite Derek Stingley Jr.
