Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders and Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward have been compared to each other throughout this past season and since the season ended. They are linked because they are viewed by most draft experts as the two top QBs in the draft. Generally, Cam Ward is viewed as someone who has better tools, whereas Shedeur Sanders is seen as someone who can manage a game better right now.

NFL Analyst Breaks Down the Shedeur Sanders vs Cam Ward Debate
On Tuesday, a new episode of ‘Move the Sticks’ was released. On the episode, former NFL player and analyst Bucky Brooks broke down the differences between Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward. He pointed out that while Cam Ward has better athletic tools, Shedeur Sanders is the better player and game manager right now.
“I think it’s really easy to pick Cam over Shedeur if we’re doing the evaluation on the tools. His tools are more impressive than Shedeur Sanders. He has a bigger arm. You see the wild throws more than you see Shedeur and you see the athleticism that Shedeur doesn’t have. To me, Shedeur is more of a pass first point guard where he is going to be very dependent on what is around him.”
“He doesn’t have the creativity to be able to make things happen if it all breaks down. To me though, I think you can look at Shedeur and say he can be a starting QB in this league. Cam Ward is going to be really appealing to people who value traits and tools and those things. I think is a better management player in terms of running the offense and those things.”
“But we’re all chasing, I would say, the elites. Everyone’s chasing that Patrick Mahomes, the Lamar Jackson, the Josh Allen, and those things. If you’re a team and you’re chasing those guys, you are going to be more apt to value tools over the guy who is the better player right now.”
On the latest episode of Move The Sticks, @BuckyBrooks explains why teams shouldn’t overlook Shedeur Sanders in the draft.

Based on what Brooks is saying, it appears he believes that Shedeur Sanders will be the better player when they first get into the league. However, he thinks that Cam Ward has a higher ceiling if a team can develop his tools. It will be interesting to see if either of their draft stocks shift after neither of them participated in the NFL Combine over the weekend.
