Haason Reddick’s Trade Suitors: Top Landing Spots for Eagles All-Pro Edge Rusher Include Cardinals, Falcons, and Rams

Haason Reddick's time with the Eagles could be nearing an end. With a potential trade on the horizon, here's a look at his best potential fits.

Haason Reddick is teetering toward becoming the next All-Pro defender who could be on the move via trade.

Just one day after Pro Bowl cornerback L’Jarius Sneed was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Tennessee Titans, the Philadelphia Eagles‘ edge rusher has emerged as the subject of trade rumblings. Which now raises the question: Which NFL franchises present the best potential landing spots if Reddick gets moved?

Who Might Trade for Eagles All-Pro Haason Reddick?

ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler revealed the bombshell report Saturday that there’s a growing expectation Reddick will get moved. Fowler cites Philadelphia spending money on Bryce Huff and re-signing Josh Sweat, which makes Reddick look like “the odd man out” for the Eagles.

Considering Reddick’s immense production and Pro Bowl credentials, he’s more than likely going to command significant attention if the Eagles entertain trade offers. It’s time to take a dive into who comes off as the best suitors.

Arizona Cardinals Provide Defense and Place Reddick Knows

Perhaps it’s time for Reddick to come “home.”

His career began in Arizona in 2017. It’s also the place where he delivered his first double-digit sack season of 12.5 in 2020. And the Cardinals have a head coach he’s awfully familiar with: Jonathan Gannon, his former Eagles defensive coordinator.

Reddick hit his most success with Gannon unleashing him on the edge, producing a career-best 16 sacks during the run to the NFC title in 2022. With Arizona lacking a consistent pass rusher, Arizona represents itself as a strong destination for Reddick.

Atlanta Falcons Bringing New Defense That Suits Reddick

Consider the Atlanta Falcons as another place needing pass-rush help in the worst way. Fowler has mentioned Atlanta as one of two strong possibilities for Reddick.

Much like the Cards, not a single Falcons defender hit seven sacks last season. Incoming head coach Raheem Morris and new defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake are likely installing the Los Angeles Rams’ system that won Super Bowl 56 — when Morris was the defensive coordinator.

That means Morris will need his Von Miller-type presence on the edge for this exotic odd-man front. Reddick is perfect for this type of attack.

Reddick would become Atlanta’s biggest find on defense, especially during an offseason that saw four-time Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins sign for $180 million with the Falcons.

Los Angeles Rams Could Have Newfound Room To Pull Off Deal

This has a lot to do with Aaron Donald retiring.

The Rams may be listed with more than $20.7 million in cap space per Over The Cap, but the 10-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle calling it a career helped free up some financial room.

The Rams have gone from a roster remodel to a team suddenly rethinking themselves as a perennial playoff/Super Bowl contender following their ’23 playoff run. There are already intriguing future pass rushers in 2023 rookies Kobie Turner and Byron Young inside the “Rams House.” Reddick, though, would re-elevate the Rams’ NFC title chances if brought over.

Indianapolis Colts Is Another Spot With Familiarity

While Gannon could help persuade phone calls to work a trade, we can’t forget about another prominent past Eagles assistant with ties to Reddick: Shane Steichen.

The Indianapolis Colts’ head coach focuses more on offense. However, he’s helped allow an edge rusher-friendly system where Samson Ebukam, Kwity Paye, and Dayo Odeyingbo all combined for 26 sacks in 2023.

Reddick was on an Eagles’ defense that featured a rotation of pass rushers, keeping him fresh. While the Colts are more of a 4-3 alignment with all three aforementioned rushers attacking from a three-point stance, Reddick has placed his hand in the dirt before. Plus, the depth of this edge rush room could remind him of Philly.

Detroit Lions Have Room for Reddick

With the Lions’ current cap space at nearly $27 million, Detroit presents another strong suitor who could take on Reddick’s deal.

Detroit has taken in former Eagles before. C.J. Gardner Johnson comes to mind, even though he pivoted back to Philly this offseason. The Lions have become more attractive than ever as a potential contender following their NFC title game run.

Like Indy, Detroit operates with all its edge rushers, including Aidan Hutchinson, attacking out of the three-point stance. But can anyone imagine a Reddick and Hutchinson duo? Detroit general manager Brad Holmes has pulled off aggressive moves, including trading for Jared Goff. Perhaps working a deal to siphon Reddick is up his sleeve.

Baltimore Ravens Present Potential Explosive Pairing

Even with Mike MacDonald leaving his defensive coordinator post, the AFC runner-up Ravens aren’t expected to scrap their defense completely. MacDonald created a pass-rushing heaven in Charm City that delivered a league-high 60 sacks.

But here’s where else Baltimore presents a strong possibility for Reddick: Jadeveon Clowney and Kyle Van Noy are still on the open market as free agents. That’s a combined 18.5 sacks that the Ravens could lose if both aren’t brought back.

Reddick, though, presents a younger and quicker option compared to the two. And a potential pairing with All-Pro defensive tackle Justin Madubuike could be even more devastating than when the latter was with Clowney and Van Noy.
