Haason Reddick’s Contract, Salary, Bonuses, and Net Worth

What is Haason Reddick's contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, and how much is he set to count against their salary cap in 2023?

Hasson Reddick signed a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent in 2022. Heading into the 2023 NFL offseason, what are Reddick’s contract situation and his salary cap number in 2023?

    Haason Reddick’s Contract Details

As a free agent, Reddick signed a three-year contract worth $45 million. The contract contained three void years and $30 million in guarantees, all of which are fully guaranteed at signing. Part of that was a $14.215 million signing bonus. There is also a $14.17 million option bonus that must be exercised during training camp in 2023.

The signing bonus prorates between 2022 and 2026 at $2.843 million annually. Meanwhile, the option bonus will prorate between 2023 to 2027 at $2.834 million a year. The way the contract is designed reduces Reddick’s cap numbers significantly in 2022, 2023, and 2024 but is set to leave $13.688 million in dead money when the contract voids in 2025.

Reddick’s cap number for 2023 is set to be $6.757 million. As of Feb. 8, Reddick is set to have the 22nd-highest cap number among outside linebackers in the 2023 season. The cap numbers are made up as follows:

    • Salary: $1.080 million
    • Signing Bonus (Prorated): $2.843 million
    • Option Bonus (Prorated): $2.834 million
    • 2023 Cap Number: $6.757 million

The way Reddick’s option bonus is structured is intriguing. Until the option bonus is paid, that element of the contract does not count against the Eagles’ cap number. Therefore, when the new league year rolls over on March 15, Reddick will only actually count for $3.923 million on the Eagles’ cap. As long as they then have the extra $2.834 million available when they pay out the bonus in training camp, that is the key.

Reddick’s cap number in 2024 is set to jump up to $19.165 million. That includes $13.75 million in salary and $5.677 in prorated money. However, due to the structure of the contract, the Eagles would incur $19.165 million in dead money if they either cut or traded Reddick. Therefore, it may force the Eagles’ hand to look at extending Reddick’s contract, as they would ideally not want to push more dead money into the void year in 2025.

    Reddick’s Net Worth

There are different estimates of Reddick’s net worth, but the general consensus appears to be in the $5-10 million range. Reddick’s NFL career earnings to date total $34.895 million, with nearly half of that coming in 2022. He is set to earn more than $30 million over the next two years, which would take his career earnings to $65.145 million across an eight-year career.
