What Is the Green Bay Packers’ Current Playoff Picture?

The Packers clinched a playoff spot in Week 16 with a shutout win over the New Orleans Saints. But after a Week 17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, the Packers fell to the No. 7 seed in the NFC.

Then, on Sunday, the Packers suffered a loss at home to the Bears to secure their seeding in the NFC. Green Bay will be the NFC’s No. 7 seed.

This means that the Packers will travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles on Wild Card Weekend, scheduled for Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET. It will be a rematch of their season-opening game that was played in Brazil. In that game, both teams gained over 400 yards of offense in a high-scoring affair that the Eagles won, 34-29.

In addition to their loss to the Eagles, the Packers have also been swept by the Vikings and Detroit Lions. That means the Packers are 0-5 against the trio of NFC teams with more wins than their total of 11.

Last year, the Packers dismantled the Dallas Cowboys 48-32 in the Wild Card Round before blowing a fourth-quarter lead in the Divisional Round to the San Francisco 49ers in a 24-21 loss.

What Were the Packers’ Potential Playoff Seeds?

The Packers entered Week 18 with the chance to finish at either the No. 6 or No. 7 seed.

The Packers would have earned the No. 6 seed by defeating the Chicago Bears in Week 18, coupled with a Commanders loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Theoretically, the Packers would have also moved up with a win and Commanders tie OR a tie and Commanders loss.

Regardless, we now know that the Packers will be the No. 7 seed following their loss to the Bears.
