Green Bay Packers 7-Round Mock Draft: Abdul Carter Forms a Scary Trio With Rashan Gary, Lukas Van Ness

With Matt LaFleur and Jordan Love, the playoff Packers are here to stay, and in this 7-round mock draft, they make their roster even stronger.

After the Green Bay Packers started the 2023 season with a record of 2-5, many were concerned that the Jordan Love experiment had run its course.

Then the Packers went 7-3 over the final 10 games, made the playoffs, and engineered a rout of the Dallas Cowboys during Wild Card Weekend. They lost a close contest to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round — just missing the NFC Championship.

Though they didn’t leave the 2023 campaign with a ring, the Packers did leave as one of the hottest teams in the NFL. And they’ll look to ride that wave through to the 2024 regular season.

With any luck — and maybe one more strong NFL Draft — they can get back to the Super Bowl.

Who Could the Green Bay Packers Draft in 2025?

1.24) Green Bay Packers: Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State

The Packers are in a unique spot. They have their quarterback in Jordan Love. The roster is strong across the board. They have the flexibility to be unorthodox in Round 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft and make their team truly elite. A talent like Abdul Carter could get it done.

At 6’3″, 250 pounds, Carter clashes with Green Bay’s stylistic tendencies at EDGE — as Rashan Gary, Lukas Van Ness, and Preston Smith exemplify. But Carter’s hyper-elite explosiveness and bend could make him an unstoppable contrasting force for offenses.

Defensive tackle could also be an option in Round 1, especially if the Packers end up losing Kenny Clark. But in this simulation, most of the highly-graded potential Clark replacements were gone by the 24th pick. As a versatile pass-rush weapon for Jeff Hafley’s defense, Carter suffices.

2.56) Green Bay Packers: Tyler Onyedim, DT, Iowa State

Tyler Onyedim is still relatively raw, but at 6’4″, 295 pounds, he has the flexibility and natural leverage to hold the fort at 3-tech, and he also has the functionality to be used as a big EDGE in Green Bay’s scheme with his elite explosiveness and lateral agility.

Onyedim wouldn’t function as a Clark replacement, unfortunately. He’s more of a 3-tech to 5-tech, while Clark has more functionality farther inside, in addition to being a quality 3-tech disruptor. But with more mass, Onyedim could feasibly add that to his repertoire.

3.88) Green Bay Packers: Mansoor Delane, CB, Virginia Tech

At 6’1″, 180 pounds, Mansoor Delane has the blazing speed to traverse and envelop the boundary, but he also has the quickness and willing physicality to disrupt in man.

CB is undoubtedly a potential need long-term for the Packers, especially after they denied Eric Stokes’ fifth-year option. That said, with Jaire Alexander still playing well, and with seventh-round pick Carrington Valentine showing promise, they might not have to address this in Round 1.

    Rounds 4-7

    4.121) Green Bay Packers
    Lander Barton, LB, Utah

    5.153) Green Bay Packers
Antwane Wells Jr., WR, Ole Miss

    6.185) Green Bay Packers
    Thor Griffith, DT, Louisville

    7.217) Green Bay Packers
    Phil Mafah, RB, Clemson
