Giants QB Tommy DeVito Goes Viral for Hilarious Social Media Post Ranking Italian Food

Tommy DeVito hasn't been shy about sharing his Italian side during New York Giants games. Now, he's brought that side as a food evaluator in a new video.

New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito became “Tommy Cutlets” in a viral video released Thursday.

The rookie passer, who is of Italian descent and has not been shy about sharing his Italian background through his end zone celebrations, showed a new side of him via the Giants: becoming a food judge.

Tommy Devito Ranks Best Italian Food Via the Giants

DeVito began to show off his Italian side on this touchdown celebration vs. the New England Patriots from Nov. 26. DeVito does a closed three-finger hand gesture that translates to “What do you want?” in Italian.

Now, DeVito used his heritage to break down his favorite Italian food choices alongside TikTok influencer Danny Mondello, who goes by the internet name “Meals by Cugine.”

DeVito began his top-five list by ranking ravioli at No. 4. Bolognese came in at No. 3, then linguine with clams was DeVito’s second choice for Italian dishes.

So which took the bottom and which took the top?

Lasagna was placed at fifth. And his No. 1 choice? Penne vodka — with DeVito saying, “It’s my No. 1, always.”

Penne vodka is known for its creamy features alongside crushed tomatoes, onions, and either small meats or vegetables. Penne pasta is used as the primary noodle. The dish is popular in many Italian-American restaurants across the nation.

As for his favorite Italian entree, DeVito went with veal marsala as the fifth choice, then shrimp scampi in the middle. But No. 1? Cutlets … which earned DeVito the Tommy Cutlets nickname.

How Has DeVito Played Since Handling Giants QB Reins?

DeVito has started to become a huge hit for viral content involving the Giants. But is he just as beloved as a QB?

The Giants’ 2023 season has looked lost, with the team at 4-8 overall and in third place in the NFC East. New York has looked far different from the 9-7-1 playoff team of a year earlier under Brian Daboll. DeVito, however, has given the Giants some new highlight moments.

Outside of his now famed hand gesture celebration, DeVito has guided the Giants to two victories since taking the QB reins. DeVito is 2-1 overall as the starter behind center.

He first delivered an epic three-touchdown afternoon in Washington D.C. on Nov. 19, which became a 31-19 Giants romp. DeVito ended throwing 18-of-26 for 246 yards, including a 40-yard strike, plus completed 69.2% of his throws.

The following week, DeVito led New York to a narrow 10-7 victory over the Patriots. DeVito was an efficient 17 of 25 for 191 yards and one touchdown while completing 68% of his passes.

DeVito and the Giants got some rest this past Sunday. Now, they’ll resume action on Monday Night Football with the red-hot Green Bay Packers heading to MetLife Stadium. The Packers are now 6-6 and will have a three-game winning streak in tow.
